[Someone's looking a little bedraggled as he sits in the Pokemon Center, which is why the entry that appears on the network is text instead of video like his Porygon originally wanted. Oh well. At least Philip is taking his advice on something...]

If there is anyone interested in either a Ninjask or Shedinja, please contact me with your name and location so I might transfer one or both to you. I have completed my research and have no more use for them.

They are of average height and weight for their species, according to the pokedex, and have reached level 20. The Ninjask is female, though the Shedinja no longer has a gender upon evolution. I imagine it is due to being more of a husk left behind after the metamorphosis than its own individual, though exuviae can be used in my world to determine the sex and species of the animal it was left from. They have not been nicknamed. They are pictured below, with the Ninjask on the left and the Shedinja on the right.

That is correct. Apparently a Nincada's evolution into a Ninjask is similar to the biological process of moulting. The Shedinja appears to be its shed exoskeleton given a life of its own.

Yeah, that's the part I wanted to make sure I heard you right on. You're saying the husk came to life after the thing on the left shed it. Right?

Correct. It now functions as a separate pokemon.

Is it actually alive, or is it just animated? Not that finding out it's really a zombie would be any more comforting.

Names were not required for their purposes. Designating them as 'friends' is not entirely correct, either. They were subjects of research. I did not bond with them when they were a Nincada or in their current, split state.

Excellent. If I am not mistaken, the Shedinja is already spoken for, but you are more than welcome to the Ninjask.

However, I do not believe I fit into any definitions of 'mad' that I am aware of, though I do see how being perpetually angry could be potentially hazardous towards one's health, and the other common definition implies your health, at least on a mental level, isn't perfect to begin with. I assure you that my mood and mental state are both fine, and once I am able to get some sleep, I will be without problem.

As I have stated, I have no particular use for them any longer. I would have released them while I was still in Viridian Forest, but my Porygon insisted that they go to trainers instead.

Oh, well. If no one wants the ghost type then I don't mind looking after it. Does it matter if I'm new here, or where I am?

I do not believe that should matter. I only wished to know names and locations of interested persons so that I would know the respective accounts to send them to via computer. You would be in New Bark Town, correct?

Hello, Aradia Megido. I had no intention of making them permanent members of my team when I captured the Nincada, so a nickname did not seem imperative. It also seemed as if it would cause some confusion in the event that, upon evolution, it split into two pokemon as the pokedex suggested it would, which did end up being the case. Truly fascinating that the exoskeleton has developed into its own individual, isn't it?

also im not clear on how the evolutions of that line work
how does an exoskeleton gain physical awareness???

She functioned perfectly fine in the wild. A short time spent being trained by me should not impair her ability to do so, nor should it matter that she has split into two beings, so I see no harm in the situation having been temporary. Marlowe agrees with you, however, on the subject of care, which is why I am making this offer to the network in the first place.

I am not certain on the mechanics myself, though I am now positive of the entry's validity on that topic, at the very least. It seems that a Nincada's evolution into a Ninjask can most closely be compared to the life cycle of a cicada, though a cicada's exoskeleton remains a lifeless husk when it is shed. While empty, the Shedinja does appear to be very much alive.

I do not have any reason to believe that allowing them to be raised by separate trainers will be detrimental to their development. They function as two individuals, now.

And that's where you're wrong!

Shedinja have a very strong bond with the Nincada they originated from. They are extremely protective of them, so if you split those two up, while it might not seem "detrimental" to you, it will have a big impact on their personality!

I have already promised the Ninjask and Shedinja to two separate trainers. However, should I provide them with this information and give them each other's contact information, I do not believe they will have a problem with keeping the pair in touch in some manner. I am afraid that is likely the best I can do, under the circumstances.

Exuviae are the discarded exoskeleton husks left behind when an animal goes through the biological process of moulting so that it may grow. This particular moulting process is known as ecdysis, which influenced the naming of the resultant superphylum as Ecdysozoa.
